Pantry

The Problem:

This family of eight has a large pantry, but they could never find what they were looking for.  Bulk purchases helped this family save money, but the extras ended up in a pile on the floor.

First, we removed everything from the pantry and threw out the expired items.  Then we organized the items by category to see what kind of storage containers would make the pantry more user friendly.  We added liners to the existing wire shelves and added extending shelves to stack cans and jars on.  These multi-step shelves for canned goods make it possible to see every can and jar in the pantry.

To help everyone in the family find what they are looking for we added open plastic bins for all the snack food, popcorn, and tea bags & coffee.  These bins are perfect because they allow the shopper in the family to quickly see what they need and grant easy access to even the youngest member in the family.  We also added plastic containers with lids to help keep the bulk pasta fresh.  Finally, we added baskets on the top shelf for paper items and party supplies.  This helped free up shelf space for food and kept the paper goods off the floor.

The Result:

A welcoming walk-in pantry full of delicious food that everyone can enjoy and find!
